Covers and Soles is about doing more than is required.  Our mission is to connect patriotic civilian knitters with soldiers and support personnel.  Pairs of handknit wool socks and warm covers ("covers" are watchcaps or hats in civilian-speak) are sent directly to the troops.  ONE soldier at a time, Covers and Soles' packages include personal greetings and "special treats".

The men and women who receive our packages are often far from home and loved ones.   Others are recovering from injuries in stateside military hospitals.  ALL receive only the very best we can give.

Covers and Soles patterns are not unique or difficult to knit - the one-to-one support offered to soldiers by Covers and Soles knitters IS unique. 

The yarns we use are the highest quality currently available in terms of durability and comfort.  The colors meet military regulations and are reviewed frequently to remain up to date on uniform standards.

Know a soldier who could use a little bit of home knitting?   Drop us an email at coversandsoles@gmail.com with his or her boot size, military branch (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines) and mailing address.   Let us know if there are any particular "treats" we can include in the package.

Friends of Covers and Soles participate in many other projects.  Knitting skills are not required to join us in honoring those who serve this great land.
